How to play

Drop runs on iPhone and iPad with iOS 17 or later. A red ball falls, wooden floors scroll up past it, and each floor has a gap.

  1. Tilt to steer. Tilt your device left or right to roll the ball. Steer it into the gap before the floor pushes it off the top of the screen.
  2. Keep going. Each floor you drop through scores a point. The floors speed up the longer you last.
  3. Deeper runs get trickier. After the first floors, narrow gaps, floors with two gaps and slowly sliding gaps start to mix in.

A short tutorial shows the tilt before your first run. You can see it again from Settings › Show How to Play.

The ball feels too fast or too slow

Change Steering Sensitivity in Settings › Controls. Bounciness sets how high the ball springs off floors. Changes apply on your next run.

Scoring and streaks

So 5 clean passes in a row score 1, 1, 2, 3 and 4: 11 points instead of 5.

After your first run, a dashed Best drop line marks how deep your best run went, and the game over card tells you how close you came.

Two modes

Play starts slow and keeps speeding up. Its best score can go to the Game Center leaderboard.

Zen starts at the speed you set in Settings › Zen Mode and speeds up only very gently. It keeps its own best score and never touches the leaderboard.

Pause a run with the button at the top right. From pause or game over, Main Menu takes you back to choose a mode.

Balls

The ball changes as your score climbs: basketball at 100, baseball at 500, soccer ball at 1,000 and more. Reaching a score in either mode unlocks that ball for good.

Pick a ball in Settings › Ball, or tap the ball in the DROP title to switch. Evolving starts red and changes as you climb. Balls are earned only by playing. They are never sold, and tips do not unlock them.

Sound and haptics

Settings › Feedback has separate Haptics, Score Sound and Bounce Sound switches. Bounce Sound is a wood knock that gets louder the harder the ball lands. Score Sound plays soft blips as points come in. Drop's sounds play alongside your own music.

If you cannot hear the game, check these switches, your device's volume and Silent mode.

Scores and Game Center

Tap the trophy on the main menu to see your best scores, top runs, deepest floor and lifetime stats. These stay on your device and work offline.

If you are signed in to Game Center, your Play best goes to the High Score leaderboard. Drop never asks you to sign in at launch, and you can play the whole game without Game Center.

Optional tips and reviews

Drop is free, with no ads. Settings › Support Development offers five one-time tips through Apple's In-App Purchase. Tips are optional and unlock nothing. Apple handles the payment.

After many runs over several days, Drop may ask Apple to show its review sheet after a good run, at most once per version. Apple decides whether to show it, and Drop never learns your rating. Settings › Rate Drop is always there too.

Privacy

There is no account and no sign-up, and Drop collects no data. Your scores and settings stay on your device. Read the full privacy policy.
